The backend - typically a content management system (CMS) these days - may be larger or smaller depending on your needs but, again, it works on the same principles to the same ends: user-control and usability. In most cases an enterprise-level corporate website differs from that of small business only to the degree to which it adds "chrome," where chrome means nothing more than the graphical bells and whistles. In other words, design is what you pay for, not necessarily performance.
